The Foundation welcomes Lord Blunkett as Patron

The Christopher Nieper Foundation is honoured to welcome he Rt. Hon Lord Blunkett as our first patron. David Blunkett is a well-known, highly respected public figure and Labour minister from the Blair years. He is a former Home Secretary, Secretary of state for Education and Employment and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.

Christopher Nieper said:  ‘He stands out as someone who has consistently brought a refreshing common sense and clear thinking to Westminster and earned great respect having been blind from birth.’

‘I first met Lord Blunkett about a year ago when he visited the academy, making an inspiring and impromptu address to 200 or more pupils.’

‘He has kept in contact since and encouraged us at every opportunity.’

‘I am deeply honoured he has agreed to be our first Patron.’
